Landor Phototex Sponsors Innovative Art Project at Bury Hospice with Phototex Fabric and Anti-Microbial Technology

Landor (UK) partners with Bury College art students, transforming their artwork into a lasting, anti-microbial art installation for Bury Hospice with PhotoTex, Landor’s unique self-adhesive fabric.

Bury College Art and Design students recently used their artistic talents in a project with Bury Hospice and Landor UK.

Their resulting creation not only showcased their artistic prowess, but also emphasised their commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

Through a collaborative effort, Bury College students crafted a fine art project for the Hospice with the aim of infusing creativity with purpose. The result of this creation not only showcased their artistic prowess, but also emphasised their commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

Impressed and moved by their efforts the previous year, where they had hand drawn various artwork murals in the Bury Hospice, Landor (UK) Managing Director Derric Landor set out to see how they could further help and enhance the purpose and talent of the Bury College Students.

So this year, combing the artisti talents of the Art Students directed by Sandrine Pellier and Landors Unique printable self adhesive Fabric Landor was able to reproduce the artworks from the students into single sheet adhesive fabric prints with Landor’s own anti microbial protective coatings for extra protection in the hospice.

Landor Phototex is a unique adhesive fabric that is created from woven fabric material that can be removed, repositioned as many times as you like without ever damaging the adhesive strength and capabilities of the adhesive as well as never leaving or losing adhesive residue, damaging walls when removed. This unique benefit is almost impossible to achieve with any other product over the longer term and saves the venue owners, brands, retailers, and home owners hours of work removing and repairing before replacing wall graphics.

The students received praise for their dedication to the project and discovered how art can uplift and inspire communities.

Derric Landor, Managing Director at Landor, added: “I am deeply moved by the collaborative effort between our company and Bury College to enhance the environments at Bury Hospice through our print sponsorship of the artwork. By providing Phototex self-adhesive fabric and our anti-microbial protective coatings applied to the prints, we have not only supported the artistic development of students but also contributed to creating uplifting spaces for the patients at Bury Hospice. It’s a testament to the power of shared resources and community partnership in making a meaningful difference.”

Landor  Liquid Lamination coatings and the Landor Liquid Lamination coater  provides essential protection for the printed image, against the effects of water, abrasion, UV fade and general pollution that can cause early degradation of prints.

Landor anti-microbial  Liquid coatings formulation is an ISO 22196 certified coating that protects the prints but also prevents germ growth for the life of the print.

Anti-microbial coatings contain silver ions, which inhibit germ growth and inactivate bacteria. preventing any growth and destroying any active bacteris.

Landor Phototex, with its entirely non damaging adhesive peels and stick to any smooth surface and can be easily removed and repositions, re-used and when no longer useful can be recycled with  Dry waste recycle waste.

Landor Liquid Laminator adds coated protection and ISO 22196 Certified Andti-Microbial Protection for the duration and life of the print

The students were praised for immersing themselves in the project, and they discovered how art can be used to uplift and inspire communities.

Sandrine Pilling, Lecturer in Art and Textiles at Bury College, said: “We are immensely proud of our students on Level 3 for showing dedication and passion in using their talents to make a difference. We worked in collaboration with Landor Phototex who printed the work on their specialist Phototex  self-adhesive fabric  with anti-microbial protective coatings.

The students have not only created beautiful art but also left an indelible mark on the hearts and lives of those who will enjoy their artwork.”

The students toured Bury Hospice to try and give them some inspiration for producing their designs.

Their resulting creation not only showcased their artistic prowess, but also emphasised their commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

Joanne Johnson, Volunteer Services Manager at Bury Hospice, was also full of praise for the students: “Following the success of last year’s mural at the Hospice we were excited to discuss what the project could be for this year.  When we discussed the possibility of allowing the students to design individual pieces of art for us to display in the patients’ bedrooms, it excited us all, and knowing that the Landor Phototex Adhesive fabric  had anti-microbial coating made it a perfect addition for the rooms where cleanliness and sterility are vitally important.

The artwork the students created this year is Excellent.

It is eye-catching and has been done to a very high standard. We will be proud to display these in our patients’ bedrooms.”
